Malt Whisky Trail
Speyside is often referred to as “Malt Whisky Country” with over 50 distilleries, the highest concentration of any Scottish region or the world for that matter! Fertile farmlands around the region are ideal for growing barley and when combined with Speyside's natural water sources produce some of the worlds most loved malt whiskies such as The Balvenie and The Macallan.
Speyside malts have fruity, sweet, spicy and vanilla flavours and if playing any of the regions golf courses is the perfect choice of drink in the 19th Hole.
During our Malt Whisky Trail golfers will base themselves at The Golf View Hotel Nairn, a 4-star iconic beachfront 19th century hotel overlooking The Moray Firth. The hotel is only a few hundred yards from Walker Cup venue Nairn Golf Club and Cabot Highlands is only 15 minutes drive. This central base means golfers are only 45 minutes from many famous Speyside distilleries including Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Macallan and our 2 personal favourites Glenfarclas and The GlenAllachie.
